Don't delay care if you need care
Throughout the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve learned a lot about our patients. We know that many patients have some concerns about getting care for non-COVID-related conditions such as cardiovascular diseases and neurological disorders. These, and many others, are serious conditions that need to be addressed immediately, and we want all of our patients and consumers in the communities we serve to know that we are here for you.
As a health system that serves patients across seven states, we have responded to the challenges brought by the coronavirus. We are prepared for these types of scenarios and have protocols in place that help to keep patients and caregivers safe. In response to the coronavirus pandemic, we have:
- Separated COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients to minimize the risk of exposure in our facilities
- Limited visitors and screening everyone who comes into our facilities
- Procured the equipment and materials required for the treatment of COVID-19
- Increased COVID-19 testing capacities within our facilities
- Instituted a protocol to monitor, test and respond to presumed and confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the Providence workforce
We know our patients have many unanswered questions about how and when to get care for non-COVID conditions, so we talked to Kevin Caserta, Chief Medical Officer at the Providence Centralia Hospital in Washington, to answer some of the questions we’ve been hearing from our patients.
Below you’ll find video responses from Dr. Caserta relating to six of the top questions we’ve been hearing from our patients.
Question: Are hospitals safe?
Question: When should I go to the emergency department?
Question: What should I expect when I get to the hospital?
Question: How do I decide between an ER or Urgent Care?
Question: Can you see me in the emergency department?
Question: How do I find virtual care?
Please know that our hospitals, emergency departments, urgent care centers, physician offices, and virtual care services are open to safely deliver the care you need and deserve.
Don’t delay care if you need it. We are here to help.
Thank you for trusting Providence with your health and wellness needs.
