Tri-Cities Washington COVID-19 update
Entry into Our Facilities
Visitors will be screened at the main entrances prior to entering. Anyone who exhibits cold or flu-like symptoms or has a fever will be asked to return home.
In order to protect the health of our communities, and as a safety precaution to prevent the risk of spreading COVID-19, Kadlec is instituting additional visitor restrictions in accordance with recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Kadlec understands the importance and value of patients having access to their loved ones while receiving care in the hospital and clinics. However, there are times when limitations must be placed on incoming visitors to reduce the potential spread of disease. This is one of those times.
Kadlec has implemented a “no visitor” policy. This limitation applies to all Kadlec facilities, including when a patient is hospitalized. We encourage our patients and their loved ones to communicate through phone and video calls. There are minimal exceptions to this policy, such as children admitted to the hospital, labor and delivery, and patients receiving end-of-life or palliative care.
For these very limited exceptions, all visitors must be 18 years or older, and be free of cold or flu-like symptoms and not have a fever. To enforce these restrictions at the hospital campus, please know all visitors will be screened at the entrances.
These restrictions apply to all Kadlec locations, including the hospital campus in Richland; the Freestanding Emergency Department in Kennewick; any Kadlec Clinic; Urgent Care or Express Care Clinic; Kadlec Healthplex; Kadlec Outpatient Imaging Center at 945 Goethals; and the Tri-Cities Regional Surgery Center and Kadlec Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Thank you for helping protect our patients, their families and our employees from the spread of infectious disease.
Postponement of Elective Surgeries and Procedures
Effective Thursday, March 19, Kadlec is postponing non-life threatening and non-urgent inpatient and outpatient surgeries and procedures to preserve capacity to meet the acute health care needs of our patients, in accordance with recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Delaying surgeries and procedures that are not urgent is essential to conserve vital and limited resources such as blood, masks, gloves and gowns for emergency surgeries and care of the most critically ill people in our community.
We recognize that this is difficult news for patients affected by the delay. Patients who are impacted are being contacted and will be rescheduled.
